Memory Screens

MemorySquare

On a yearly basis, we get physicals, which typically includes bloodwork and other forms of necessary testing. However, most of us have likely not received a memory test.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is now recommending that everyone get a baseline memory screening, starting at the age of 50, with a yearly follow up exam to look for cognitive changes. It is a simple and safe evaluation that consists of a series of questions and/or tasks designed to test memory, language skills, thinking ability, and other cognitive functions.

During the screening process, we will review your medical history and go over any medications that you are currently taking, as well as discuss any memory loss concerns you may have. Based on the results of your exam, generalized score will be produced.

The results will determine if the score of the memory exam is within normal limits or if there is mild to moderate cognitive decline. Your results will then be reviewed and signed by a physician, and copies will be made available for you to take home. If you prefer, we can send them to your physician, too.

No insurance is required, and all information is confidential in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

*The free baseline memory screening is NOT used to diagnose any particular illness and does NOT replace consultation with a physician.
